ORR/OER activity and zinc-air battery performance of various kinds of graphene-based air catalysts

The development of cheap and efficient oxygen reduction evolution reaction catalysts are important, which not only push the electrochemical energy systems including water electrolyzers, metal-air batteries, fuel cells nearer to their theoretical limits but also become substitute for expensive noble metal (Pt/C, IrO2 or RuO2 Pt-Ru/C). In this review, recently reported potential graphene-based air such as graphene with non-metals, non-noble metals, oxides, nitrides, sulfides, carbides, other carbon composites identified in-light-of-their high reaction/oxygen activity zinc-air battery performance density batteries. Further, recent progress on batteries strategies used improve cycling-performance (stable even up-to 394 cycles), capacity (even 873 mAh g−1), power 350 mW cm−2), 904 W h kg−1) reviewed. scientific engineering knowledge acquired provide conceivable practical application in near future.
